English and Global Perspective teacher, living with my beautiful wife in Malaysia, counting blessings, enjoying life, working hard with passion to make each moment memorable!
Yes, I am guilty of it too. Speedreading. Or ‘Spreading’ or whatever name you will give it. Speed reading is to read rapidly by assimilating several phrases or sentences at once (Google dictionary). What I have learned? It does not work. I believe speedreading is a scam and a fake tool to make people comprehend […]
What are your thoughts about life? I haven’t met a single person who is already sure from the beginning what they want to do with their lives. So didn’t I. Like many others, I am a typical ‘jack of all trades but a master of none’. Studying a Master of Science degree taught me, […]
I never knew how catnip looked like until today. Yes, I know it’s a plant and cats get crrraaazzzyyy for it. We used to have shredded catnip in cloth and they loved it! Apparently, we grow catnip in our garden! Mak, my mother in law, took some out and Ayah, my father in law, was […]
There is a group of people in Europe, mainly in Germany but now also active in The Netherlands that is called ‘Pegida’, which stands for ‘Patriotic Europeans Against the Islamisation of The West (Des Abenlandes, in German). Their discourse is super racist and discriminatory. Anyone involved with that group and the like is utterly insane […]
I was really scared not to get it in time, but, now I have it! The LTSVP, or, Long Term Social Visiting Pass to stay for a more extended period in Malaysia. The process is long and daunting. I cannot speak for other nationalities, but, in my relative easy case, it was already anxious! From […]
I didn’t blog much lately. Partly because I’m busy with studies, the daily life is the same I have written about already, but, I did try to write fiction! After studying for hours, reading heavy stuff, I once in a while also want to have some creativity. I do like writing, and I do enjoy […]
This post is all about economics. I came across some blog posts, and I saw many economic concepts passing by but they didn’t click, and it was having heard about it but not appropriately applied. I firmly am in favour of knowing at least the basics of economics and how it influences political policies. Precisely […]
you and me! Let’s talk about all the good things and the bad things that may be… and the rest of the song you probably will remember going through the memory lane, if it’s new to you, here’s the song! But this post isn’t about that song. This post is about something I read earlier. […]
I can be so terribly good at procrastinating. I even can scare myself with it! With the same amazement I can be amazed how much I can do in such little time as well. Sometimes I am feeling that I am living on the outer edges of these two extremes without being comfortable stable in […]
I am sure that every single human being is at least once in their lives: anxious, stressed, nervous, panicking, or simply said being in a state of distress. How wonderful does it then sound to be delighted! Being care free, relaxed, empowered and ready to take on the next challenge? There are many self-help books […]
But Hey!! That is simply amazing! How did that happen? I am amazed, humble, grateful that you are following me. I actually mean that! I started this blog somewhere in 2015. Then I initially wanted to have a place to collect environmental articles I posted on other blogs. But, I knew that I wouldn’t be […]
Don’t you have the same too once in a while? That there is a movie in your head? On repeat? Over and over again? This I have recently. The day my mother died. I realized that I never put it on paper, this day, this rather special day in a way. Not for me but […]
Facebook is a terrible invention. I am happy that I am out of there, though it is only a month or so. However, it is enough time to have ‘forgotten’ about it, how it is not part of my life anymore, or, how I’m no longer part of Facebook’s money making machine. But I also […]
So, fellow Malaysians (I know I know, I am not a Malaysian but I do love this country and here my home is) and the rest of the world. A quick demonstration of a matsaleh (white foreigner) who doesn’t want to join the fast food hype by cooking a very simple non-Malaysian, but delicious meal!
The brilliant and magical Sunday morning I wrote about couldn’t end better! Do you know those days? When there is a nice flow and energy that this flow continues throughout the whole day? That you meet unexpected things or that you are in unexpected situations you always will remember?
Suddenly, as if someone snapped me out of this world I found myself being in a movie or a character in a book. It felt I wasn’t grounded on earth anymore. All that seemed real a minute ago was now fiction.
I saw there was a new app suddenly on my phone. Google Assistant or something, which now is gone for some unknown reason. But! I like her, she’s cool and witty 😂😂😂😂 and a real Rebel Thanks Google Assistant…. Sigh….
Malaysia is an Islam/Muslim dominant country, which also has a multicultural society, has a democracy, and that we are living peacefully with each other. I would like to speak up against the rising Islamophobia in the West by giving my input in the debate in a positive way from my own experience trying to give […]
The finale of the 14th General Elections (GE14) in Malaysia are Epic. There simply is no other word than epic to describe the course of these elections. It teaches that voting matters. It teaches that your right to influence your country absolutely is possible. In Malaysia, after about a 60 year rule of the leading coalition, Malaysians voted the opposition in power.
